Shifts: All – Day, Evening, Weekend, Nights

Reports To: Stock Control/Customer Service Manager


Position Overview

As a Planner you will work in a fast-paced environment to oversee the end-to-end process of checking in deliveries and finalizing trips. You will coordinate all activities related to receiving and dispatching goods, ensuring alignment with customer requirements, quality standards and service levels. This role involves cross training in both a planning role and as a transportation specialist, rotating between the two roles.

You will play a key role in supporting NewCold’s performance objectives, including customer satisfaction, productivity, and accuracy, while fostering a positive and professional work environment. Additionally, you will contribute to building a strong site culture that reflects our values and promotes a proactive approach to health and safety within the team.


Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Receive and dispatch orders, ensuring alignment with customer and company guidelines and procedures.
  • All Inbound and outbound orders are dispatched in a timely manner adhering to company targets and KPIs for service and quality.
  • Collaborate with the warehouse team to help maintain an efficient and smooth workflow.
  • Adhere to established protocols for all company systems and manage all quality issues on behalf of the customer.
  • Coordinate with customers and carriers to ensure customer delivery requirements are achieved.
  • Align with Shift Leaders and System Operators to ensure optimum workflows and efficiencies are achieved for all warehouse activities.
  • Collaborate with carrier representatives and warehouse teams to ensure prompt and accurate loading and unloading.
  • Monitor to ensure picking, loading and unloading activities are completed within established time guidelines.
  • Use the systems in the most efficient way to create a smooth flow of product in and out of the high bay
  • Follow established procedures to ensure product quality is always maintained, and within customer requirements related to temperature, damage, etc.
  • Set up customer pickups and deliveries, and check-in and out all carriers using the MLS system.
  • File all paperwork as required.
  • Distribute documentation, such as bills of lading, to appropriate parties.
  • Ensure the accuracy of all documents.

Additional Duties

  • Crosstrain with other roles to provide coverage for other team members time off.
  • Provide a helping hand to assist colleagues in carrying out tasks as required.
  • Help maintain a clean and tidy work environment
  • Continually look for opportunities for improvement and efficiency.
  • Ability to work multiple shifts as required.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Exceptional customer service skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Intermediate Computer Proficiency
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and function well in a high-paced, stressful environment.

Education and Experience:

  • High School diploma, or equivalent
  • Experience in operations
  • 3+ years of Microsoft Office Suite Programs (word, excel, outlook)
  • Experience with Sharepoint
  • MLS experience preferred but not required
  • Experience with office equipment such as 10 key calculators, telephones, photocopiers, etc

Physical Demands:

  • Must be able to lift/push/pull/carry up to 20 lbs repetitively
  • Frequent bending/twisting
  • Must be able to sit for extended periods, up to 12 hours per day.
