Reports To: Stock Control/Customer Service Manager
Position Overview
As a Stock Control Specialist, you will support inventory management activities, ensuring the maintenance of our inventory management KPIs as per the Operational Service Agreement (OSA) and Inventory Accuracy KPI’s. You will also be responsible for aligning inventory between the customer’s inventory management system (ERP) and our MLS system. Additionally, you will contribute to building a strong site culture that reflects our values and promotes a proactive approach to health and safety within the team.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Ensure consistent service levels for customers concerning product quality and service.
- Communicate effectively with the Customer Service & Stock Control Manager as well as all warehouse management and staff.
- Maintain a professional and positive relationship with the customer.
- Manage and maintain inventory in the client’s inventory management system (ERP) and MLS.
- Provide precise and timely inventory updates to the Customer Service & Stock Control Manager, ensuring regular communication on progress, priorities, defects, and bottlenecks.
- Create inventory adjustments as necessary, after consulting with the Customer Service & Stock Control Manager.
- Identify and address anomalies and bottlenecks as necessary and implement solutions to achieve a more optimal state.
- Coordinate all inventory management tasks with the Customer Service & Stock Control Manager, including restacking, inventory status changes, and cycle counts.
- Perform administrative tasks for the inventory management process and ensure accuracy.
- Help maintain a CRM program that supports service levels for our customers.
- Escalate and communicate inventory control issues within NewCold management.
- Ensure inventory management meets the expected quality standards of NewCold customers.
- Maintenance of all inventory locations of the warehouse.
- Coordinate with operations to ensure proper disposition of anomaly pallets in the warehouse (QA callbacks, canceled orders, etc.).
- Ensure customers adhere to inventory control procedures.
- Create or maintain inventory control procedures and forms.
- Support the creation of new customer accounts as needed.
- Reconcile inventory accounts and maintain open communication with customers to ensure alignment and accuracy of all inventory.
- Create and submit purchase orders for consumables; monitor and maintain inventory for consumables.
- Work with operations to ensure VAL activities are properly tracked and billed.
- Ensure a safe and healthy work environment.
Additional Duties
- Crosstrain with other roles to provide coverage for other team members time off.
- Provide a helping hand to assist colleagues in carrying out tasks as required.
- Support Business Development initiatives as and when required.
- Share best practice and standards with colleagues in other Newcold sites and join collaborative projects.
- Help maintain a clean and tidy work environment

- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Exceptional customer service skills.

Education and Experience:
- High School Diploma
- 3+ years’ experience in inventory management
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite Programs (word, excel, outlook)
- Experience with Sharepoint
- MLS experience preferred but not required
Physical Demands:
- Must be able to lift/push/pull/carry up to 30 lbs repetitively
- Frequent bending/twisting
- Must be able to sit for extended periods, up to 12 hours per day.
