The Welder / Fabricator is responsible to weld and fabricate a variety of custom orders including truck bodies, trailers, enclosures, and mobile oilfield equipment. Fabricators must have experience in MIG and TIG welding processes, the ability to read blueprints, and have working knowledge in operating fabricating equipment such as a brake and shear. Good work habits, keen eye for detail and process oriented skills are required for this position.

Our Coaldale, AB plant is located just off of highway 3 and is an easy commute from Lethbridge or Taber. We currently have 93 employees and are continuing to expand.



· Fabricate interior and exterior components as required out of aluminum, steel or other material by cutting, bending and welding

· Accurately follow drawings

· Read and understand the work order / production order to understand the work required

· Properly fill out daily time sheet and target hour sheets

· Anticipate material requirements and request them via the computer

· Prepare chassis to accept the body

· Mount body squarely on chassis body with crane and air jack

· Install other components as required – lift gate / steps / bumpers / ramps etc.

· Cut and build components as required – steps / bumper etc.

· Clean up

· Analyze drawings before building framework, with the understanding that critical thinking is required as minor mistakes on drawings may occur


· Fabrication of belly boxes, drawers, cabinets, decks, etc

· Use break and shear to cut and bend material as required

· Build frames according to the drawings within expected acceptable tolerances

· Complete basic body repairs


· Fabrication of Steps

· TIG Welding

· Build laminate countertops

· Installation of hydraulics, PTO’s and other mechanical components

· Fabricate running gear and flat deck units

· Fabricate generator frames within ITB and CWB scope

· Complete retrofits


Certified Welding Journeyperson or apprentice in Alberta or Interprovincial
