POSITION SUMMARY

The Recreation Centre Attendant carries out maintenance, set-up and security duties associated with the SHIFT Community Recreation Centre. Some interdepartmental overlap of tasks at other locations may be necessary. Shift work is a requirement of this position. The majority of shifts filled by the Attendant will be weeknight and weekend work.

JOB DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Assist in the operation and maintenance of the SHIFT Community Recreation Centre.
  • Assist in the supervision of the SHIFT Community Recreation Centre, including site security, minor repairs, standard maintenance procedures, and related equipment maintenance.
  • Ensure recreation facilities, grounds and equipment are cleaned on a regular basis.
  • Operate equipment as needed or directed.
  • Adhere to Town safety regulations and procedures.
  • Identify and report safety concerns or hazards that are encountered in Town facilities.
  • Perform other duties as required.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Valid Class 5 Operator’s License.
  • Ability to work independently as well as within a team.
  • Relatable work experience in facility maintenance, security and/or recreation programming will be considered an asset.

WORKING CONDITIONS

  • Moderate amounts of physical effort including bending, lifting, and walking.
  • Use and operation of a variety of equipment including: Auto Scrubbers etc.
  • Lifting or moving up to 50 lbs. may be required.

  • Ensure all operations are performed in a safe manner and in accordance with the Town of Coaldale policies, as well as the law as set forth by Alberta’s Occupational Health and Safety Act.
