POSITION SUMMARY
The Recreation Centre Attendant carries out maintenance, set-up and security duties associated with the SHIFT Community Recreation Centre. Some interdepartmental overlap of tasks at other locations may be necessary. Shift work is a requirement of this position. The majority of shifts filled by the Attendant will be weeknight and weekend work.
JOB DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Assist in the operation and maintenance of the SHIFT Community Recreation Centre.
- Assist in the supervision of the SHIFT Community Recreation Centre, including site security, minor repairs, standard maintenance procedures, and related equipment maintenance.
- Ensure recreation facilities, grounds and equipment are cleaned on a regular basis.
- Operate equipment as needed or directed.
- Adhere to Town safety regulations and procedures.
- Identify and report safety concerns or hazards that are encountered in Town facilities.
- Perform other duties as required.
REQUIREMENTS
- Valid Class 5 Operator’s License.
- Ability to work independently as well as within a team.
- Relatable work experience in facility maintenance, security and/or recreation programming will be considered an asset.
WORKING CONDITIONS
- Moderate amounts of physical effort including bending, lifting, and walking.
- Use and operation of a variety of equipment including: Auto Scrubbers etc.
- Lifting or moving up to 50 lbs. may be required.
